SF Ballet celebrates Sergei Diaghilev
San Francisco Ballet brings together a collection of brilliant works of contemporary ballet that both hark back to and re-interpret the work of Sergei Diaghilev and the Ballets Russes. Featured on the program is an exclusive, world premiere by Bobbi Jene Smith and Or Schraiber to the music of Andy Akiho, as well as a company premiere of Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui's Faun.
The program also sees the return of Yuri Possokhov's much loved work Violin Concerto, set to the music of Igor Stravinsky's magnificent, technically demanding and with movement that requires the greatest of skills from the dancers.
