Irish Author Sally Rooney in conversation

Irish breakthrough author Sally Rooney visits San Francisco's Sydney Goldstein Theater for a conversation with Heidi Julavits as part of the "On Arts" series. Her debut novel Conversations With Friends (2017) and her follow up Normal People (2018) beautifully navigate the lives and problems faced by twenty-somethings in the modern world, exploring growth, trauma, class and relationships.

Elected a scholar at Trinity College Dublin in 2011, Dublin-based Rooney's exquisite work has earned nominations for the Man Booker Prize and Women's Prize for Fiction, as well as winning Irish Novel of the Year and Waterstones' book of the year for Normal People in 2018. Heidi Julavits is an American author, editor of Believer Magazine and professor of creative writing at Columbia University.
