Dreaming Of Success
Following its New York debut, San Francisco Playhouse stages Kesselring Prize-winning playwright Candrice Jones's FLEX, a compelling and inspiring new play about the hoops and hurdles faced by a high school girls' basketball team from Arkansas. The Lady Train team dreams of becoming professional basketball players, but from the outset are beset by the challenges of marginalization, being young black female athletes from a rural hometown. Will their personal struggles outside the court fracture their unity, or can they stand united through thick and thin?
FLEX unfolds as a testament to the resilience and determination of a group of remarkable young women aiming for the top.
