Tony Award winner Rachel Chavkin (Hadestown) takes the helm for the world premiere of this musical adaptation of the beloved film, opening next Summer! Telling the story of two strangers brought together by a mistaken lunch delivery, The Lunchbox is a heartfelt tale of connection. The original film's writer and director Ritesh Batra has written the book for this extraordinary new musical.
In Mumbai, the lunchbox delivery service is incredibly successful. However, one small mistake is about to change two people's lives. A wrong delivery sparks the beginning of an exchange of handwritten notes between an unappreciated housewife and a widowed, world-weary accountant - and a connection quickly builds that blossoms into friendship, with the two finally finding the kinship they've been missing.
