About Chucho Valdes Quartet

Hailing from Quivican in Cuba, Chucho founded one of Cuba's most famous bands, Irakere, in 1973, who helped to revolutionize Afro-Cuban jazz, bringing it to a wider audience. As a solo artist Chucho eventually signed to the legendary jazz label Blue Note Records, taking his influence truly global. A genuine pioneer in jazz and Latin music, to witness Chucho Valdes live is a story to tell your grand kids.
