Priscilla Queen of the Desert

Priscilla Queen of the Desert at Lesher Center for The Arts

Why see Priscilla Queen of the Desert?

A Journey to the heart of fabulous!

Banish the blues and prepare to bust a move with Contra Costa Musical Theatre's wonderful production of this tantalizing tale of three drag queens a road trip across the Australian Outback.

Fantastically funny and full to bursting with disco hits including 'It's Raining Men', 'Macarthur Park' 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' and many more, this Tony-winning tuner comes from Stephan Elliott and Allan Scott, adapted from the irresistible 1994 movie of the same name. So grab your frocks and your feathers and head out in style to enjoy an unforgettable night at the theatre.

What's the story?

Follow Tick, Bernadette and Adam, a glamorous Sydney-based performing trio that agree to take their show to a resort in Alice Springs, in the middle of the outback. Boarding a 'budget Barbie campervan' our heroes set out across the country on a journey that sees them battle with perceptions, dazzle strangers and broaden their own horizons in the process. With songs from Cyndi Lauper, Donna Summer, Madonna, Kylie Minogue, The Pet Shop Boys and many more, this is the ultimate feel-good night out for all fans of theatre.
