Rising to fame with the hip-hop trio The Fugees during the mid-Nineties, Hill became a household name with the release of the group's second album, "The Score." Featuring tracks like "Killing Me Softly" and "Ready or Not", the record was a groundbreaking fusion of rap, soul, and reggae, proving immensely influential in its innovative use of sampling. Hill's 1998 solo debut, "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill", followed soon after and achieved even greater success. It reached number one on the Billboard charts and earned the then 23-year-old singer an unprecedented five Grammy Awards.

Lauryn Hill Chicago Theater
Lauryn Hill was fabulous. She sings from her heart. There was incredible diversity in her audience. The Age group of the audience expanded over decades. She spoke briefly about her absence from the stage, but I'm glad that she's back and she has not missed a beat. I appreciate that she's not driven to do what she does by the desire for wealth or fame but just for the love of MUSIC! If Lauryn Hill is ever in your area don't miss her show.
