King has consistently transformed his dancers into celestial beings, their spiralings both emotionally raw and exquisitely superhuman.

Copland's peon to America gets ballet treatment
Aaron Copland's hopeful peon to early American settlers gets a gorgeous treatment from LINES Ballet and choreographer Alonzo King, forming the highlight of this excellent program in collaboration with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra. Evoking the challenges and adventures of the land's first immigrants, Copland's enduring Pulitzer Prize-winning epic is a monumental work to witness in any form. Bathe in the aural delight of the work, with accompanying visual delight from the artistic movement provided by LINES!
That's not all, though. The magnificent performance will also include another collaboration between LINES and the orchestra, set to Debussy's ethereally brilliant Prelude A L'Apres Midi D'Un Faun, while opening the program is Prokofiev's Sinfonia Concertante.
