In 2017, Mac was awarded the prestigious MacArthur "Genius" Grant and was named a Pulitzer Prize finalist for Drama for A 24-Decade History of Popular Music. The acclaimed American actor, playwright, performance artist, director, producer and singer-songwriter's boundary-pushing work has made Judy one of the most distinctive figures in contemporary theatre - don't miss this fearless performer live on stage!

A 24-Decade History of Popular Music

Mac's most ambitious work to date, A 24-Decade History of Popular Music, is an extraordinary journey through 240 years of American history and popular culture. First developed over several years with musical director Matt Ray, the piece culminated in a legendary 24-hour performance in 2016, featuring 246 songs spanning 24 decades.

Each hour explored a different period of American history through music, costume and performance, with Mac and longtime collaborator Machine Dazzle creating an ever-changing visual world. The production went on to be named by The Guardian among the best theatrical works of the 21st century.
