Known for always speaking the truth and giving a voice to a voiceless, Harris' quest for equality and social justice stems from her childhood. The daughter of immigrants of Jamaican and Indian descent, her parents met as activists in the civi rights movement whilst both studying at Berkeley. Straight out of law school, she became a deputy district attorney and simultaneously one of the most galvanising forces for change in law enforcement.
