James Taylor with Jackson Browne at Chase Center

Why see James Taylor with Jackson Browne?

James Taylor's American Standard Tour

Riding the crest of the transition between the tumultuous end of the summer of love and the psychedelic, navel-gazing 70s, James Taylor is the name that comes to mind when thoughts turn to the concept of the quintessential songwriter. Five decades later, the five-time Grammy-winning Rock and Roll Hall of Famer is still writing, releasing and touring - don't miss him when he hits the road with fellow folk-rock icon Jackson Browne this summer! The tour comes fresh off the back of Taylor's 19th studio album American Standard.

Taylor started his ascent into the stratosphere with his breakthrough single 'Fire and Rain' in 1970 and over the course of his career became one of the best selling music artists of all time thanks to his heartfelt songcraft,  genial, infectious charm, and wholesome lyrical themes about kith and kin. On tour, the wise-cracking muso is sure to enchant with his guitar and voice-led classics as well as regale his adoring crowds with anecdotes and stories from his time as one of America's greatest and best-selling living musicians

JT and Jackson Browne at Chase Center

Pure pleasure last night. JB started off the show with a nice mix of old and new tunes and his band was really spot on. His lyrics were a bit difficult to hear at times and the sound balance seemed a bit off, but a minor issue. JT came out and did a tune with him and that was really amazing. JT's band, as always was stellar. Steve Gadd on drums, Larry Goldings on keyboards, Lou Marini on saxes.. and of course Arnold who never disappoints. Also they did an amazing job with the lights and graphics. But tops for me, as always, is JT alone on the stage with his acoustic guitar. Nobody rivals him and the chills were there for us. I've seen JT dozens of times, having grown up in MA and spent lots of time on Martha's Vineyard. There's just something about him that is timeless and simply wonderful! Loved it! ... Read more

Two of the Greats in One Show!

Jackson Browne still has a strong voice that carries his famous tunes from the 70's into his 70's. He was entertaining, sincere and seemingly humble for someone with his great success. Being a life-long JT fan, no matter the performance or the chosen tunes, I am always delighted to see and hear him play. His dry wit is amusing as well. Understandably, some of the lesser fans expected to hear more of his hits, but for the always-going crowd, it's nice to hear him mix it up. For me, bringing back the memories of when both Jackson and James' old hits were popular, really makes it all worthwhile. As all of us age together, recalling those years from their live performances today makes me smile. I'm just thankful that they are both still around and have it in them to continue to share with us. Thank you Jackson! Thank you James! ... Read more
