David Byrne

David Byrne at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium

Why see David Byrne?

Who Is The Sky? Tour!

Former Talking Heads frontman and all-around excellent human David Byrne graces us with an ambitious new tour in support of his latest record, 'Who Is the Sky?'. Produced by Kid Harpoon - known for his work with Harry Styles and Miley Cyrus - and arranged by New York's own Ghost Train Orchestra, it's his first solo release since 2018's American Utopia. In typical Byrne style, expect a spectacle that combines his musicianship, artistry, and delightfully off-beat nature as he presents favorites old and new in this highly anticipated new era.

Starting this September, Byrne will hit the road with a 13-person band made up of musicians, singers, and dancers - many of them familiar faces from the American Utopia live show. As always, the stage will be in constant motion, filled with the same inventive energy that made his last tour a global sensation (and a Broadway smash, thanks to Spike Lee's HBO film).

A leader of the New Wave scene in the late '70s and early '80s, Byrne has enjoyed enduring success first with Talking Heads and then as a solo artist, filmmaker, photographer, activist, and writer. A friend of Bowie and collaborator with Brian Eno (who featured on American Utopia's lead single "Everybody's Coming to My House"), his perpetual zeal for creating has cemented him as a true auteur an icon of the modern age.

Don't miss this very good reason to be cheerful when Byrne rolls into town in 2025!

Kick ass

70 year old hippie, this is one of the best concerts I can remember. The percussionist were like seeing a very hip college matching band. It was a visual journey that kept you wondering what is next. Two encores! The crowd was electrified by David and very professional group of musicians. Stayed at Phoenix, walking distance to the fantastic Bill Graham Auditorium. Eat at Brendas, best good in the City. ... Read more

Wow!

Thank you Universe for bringing David Byrne and Co. to Cincinnati!!!! Whao! Totally new level of experience. David has always been ultra talented. Coreographed musicians, vocalists, all performers. All live instruments. I love the way that David uses his voice. His talent totally resonates with me. He is a deep thinker with levity in his expressions. Wonderful. How is 66 so young? Amazing! Wonderful! Thank you! Totally want the video of this tour. Wish I could follow you like a groupie to see Ibeyi in CA!!! Would love to have names of fallen victims of fear mongering racism on the monitors to each side of the stage. Many names we know. Some we don't. I don't want your powerful message lost on the crowd. Thanks for an amazing experience! And next time you come to Cincy, please come and get acupuncture :) ... Read more
