"a mature and elusive play about faith"

The Guardian

Why See The Christians?

What do you beleive in?

As the head of his evangelical flock, charismatic Pastor Paul has led them from a storefront to a gigantic mega-church in just ten years. Now he finds himself moved to tell them his newest revelation, one that will shatter his congregation to the core, as their beliefs are questioned and divided.

Lucas Hnath's clever and profound play is a respectful look at faith in America, giving fair voice to both sides and the power it has to unite and separate. With backing from a live choir, this innovative work steps easily been epic and familiar, opening a dialogue that every audience member is likely to have an opinion on.
