I loved this lively and fun play. The sets were clever and wonderful. The dialogue
throughout was well-paced witty. The actors wee terrific, especially the mother and her
teenage daughter, who was really a teen! I laughed a lot and was thoroughly
entertained.

A WALK ON THE MOON MUSICAL
BRAVO to the team behind this terrific musical. I was transfixed by the music and the production value on the stage. Young Alison reminded my of my sister and the inventive music and lyrics were so refreshing. THIS IS WHAT NEW AMERICAN MUSICAL THEATRE IS! This took risks and always didn't succeed but I was told this is its first incarnation and it sure was powerful and got inside my head. The acting was brilliant across the board. Mom and Dad Pearl and Marty sang beautifully and Pearls lusting for the BlouseMan exemplified the longing 1969 presented. Her daughter sang with such conviction and her coming of age as a parallel to the givings of '69 were spot on. The director moved the show so beautifully from scene to scene and continually surprised me doing so much with the same set pieces. Her pacing and the actors coming off and on were so graceful. The choreography and the set were as if I was in NYC and I'm definitely coming back and grabbing my MahJong ladies. A STANDING OVATION. MM

BEAUTIFUL PRODUCTION WITH OUTSTANDING CAST
Loved the musical! Talented cast led by Katie Brayben and Jonah Platt. Beautiful sets,
funny, charming, and extremely entertaining. Although it takes place in 1969, we can all
relate to a rapidly changing world and our place in it. In this new musical, Director
Sheryl Kaller put together one terrific cast and creative team. I hope it is headed to
Broadway!

A WALK ON THE MOON MUSICAL
I happened to watch this movie again just last night on dvd ( bought it a few years
ago I loved it so much). I was googling something about the cast of the film when I
saw the A.C. T. info that it just opened in S.F. as a musical. So excited, I booked a
ticket right away for the 2 p.m. show today! Let me just say I was completely
delighted with the production! The cast is an amazingly talented group of actors who
really made their characters seem authentic. The original songs were fantastic. The
whole production really captured the feel of that era and what the characters were
going through, particularly Pearl and her daughter, Allison. Don't miss this gem as
it's only here in S.F. for a short while. It's a real treat!

A WALK ON THE MOON - A MUSICAL
Fun show and talented cast. It felt like a NY / London production from start to finish. I
was moved by the music , singing, and the simplicity/ complexity of the story line. The
main character, who's longing for more, finds herself swept away by the "blouse man"
and for a brief moment forgets all else. Very entertaining evening -
I highly recommend it to anyone who would like a light, entertaining and funny
performance.

MUST SEE!
This show's excellence is carried by the amazing songs, story, cast, and direction. i found
myself engaged throughout the entire show, along with the audience. I would
recommend catching it at the ACT Theatre before July 1st...otherwise you'll have to wait
until it hits Broadway.

FUN SHOW! HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
A wonderful romp back to 1969. Great music, well cast, nice comedic/poignant story.
Terrific surprise to see a Broadway bound show at ACT in SF. You gotta see it.

A WALK ON THE MOON
This is an amazing work that should not be missed! The music is new and the
characters are real and the performances are authentic. The political and social
unrest of the late 1960's certainly resonates today. I will try and go and see this play
again before the run ends. The talented cast tells a very real story that will
transform you to another time and place. Although filled with working class Jewish
humor, you don't have to be Jewish to appreciate this show. Bravo to A.C.T. for
continuing to promote heartfelt original artistic material!

GREAT SHOW!
I personally loved the show and its story but I have got to give a shoutout to that
AMAZING CAST AND SET/DESIGN. I have to personally give shoutouts to some of the
cast because its full of insanely talented stars such as Katie Brayben who steals the
show with her strong folk voice, the sweet faced Nick Sacks who had every teen girl in
the theatre swooning, the charming Jonah Platt who plays the hardworking father so
effortlesly, and of course, the dreamy Zak Resnick as the Blouse Man, his voice is so
beautiful. Also shoutout to the grandma and the MaJongg girls.. AMAZING. The only
reason Im giving this 4 stars is because of some of the tech aspects that were off, and
we couldn't hear alot of the dialouge and vocals from our seats in the orchestra. And
also as much as I was trying to LOVE the show it was a bit slow and could be better at a
faster speed.
For sure going to see the show again towards the end of the run to see how it develops.
Best of luck to the talented cast and crew!!

ARE YOU SERIOUS?
Are you serious that, in 2018, we are watching a musical in which a
woman "finds herself" by having an affair with a piece of eye candy
while her daughter emulates the same behavior? Is that supposed to
be interesting and sexy? It's just sad and pathetic. Shame on you for
setting feminism and the rights of women to find themselves in
something besides sex as beyond our aspirations. Do you really want
your children to see this? Why couldn't she have "found" her true self
in meaningful career work such as the journalism that she was
interested in? This is such a retro show, and not in a good way at all. I
couldn't believe that an esteemed and reputable theater company like
A.C.T. would put something like this on stage. Very sad.
