BEETHOVEN 250 WITH SAN FRANCISCO SYMPHONY
San Francisco Symphony Orchestra continue their heralding of Beethoven's 250th birthday with a performance of the composer's rousing Symphony No. 7, as well as a rendition of Sibelius' Violin Concerto featuring Armenian violinist Sergey Khachatryan, the youngest ever winner of the International Jean Sibelius Violin Competition.
The orchestra is led for this performance by Dima Slobodeniouk, who since 2013 has served as the music director for Orquesta Sinfnica de Galicia. The program also includes Jorg Widmann's thrilling Con Brio, a spectacular overture inspired by Beethoven.
