Unique performance from Canadian writer Robert Lepage
After being asked to recite a poem he couldn't remember, play creator Robert Lepage used a method called 'the memory palace,' where places are used to bring back memories to remember what he had written in the poem. This leads him to transform the stage into his memories, taking audiences on a journey across life.
With stunning production from Lepage's own company Ex Machina, 887 delves into the writer's own childhood, why people remember what they remember, and in turn forget what they forget, and the concept of memories altogether. The play is set in Quebec, Canada and delves into themes of identity, nostalgia and society as a whole. As a combination between theater, spoken word and speech, this poignant and political play is solo show like no other.
