"Their current tour's sold-out nights at London's Scala showed the tide still rises for these unassuming self-made stars and their spirited repertoire of horn-hollering soul hooks, floor-shaking beats, and punchy improv."

A bright new future for Jazz lies in Snarky Puppy's capable hands.
The Modern Jazz jaugernaut that is Snarky Puppy caught the world off guard with the release of their fourth album Tell Your Friends in 2010. No band has since reached the scope and sheer ambition of bandleader Michael League, his evolving collective of over 40 musicians and their fusion of jazz, funk and rock. Amidst constant touring all over the world, the New York outfit keeps churning out bigger, bolder albums, their most recent being Sylvia, a breathtaking orchestral collaboration with Holland's Metropole Orkest.
They'll be joined for this special show at Cisco's Warfield music hall by Kamasi Washington, a tenor saxophonist who's been at the forefront of the LA progressive jazz scene with a style that harks back to bebop greats John Coltrane and Albert Ayler yet has its feet firmly planted in the present. His collaborators include Flying Lotus and Kendrick Lamar.
