The Diplomats

Brand new show!
Why see The Diplomats?
Sex! Drugs! Insanity! Multilateral negotiations!
With manic glee, The Diplomats unleashes the mad dogs that snarl behind diplomatic veneers. In Martin Schwartz's raucous comedy The Diplomats, we find ourselves somewhere in Central Asia as a quartet of hapless cultural attaches try and absurdly fail to put on a comic theatre festival with the collaboration of a hilariously corrupt local government. In the midst of a human rights disaster, the actors they've booked refuse to perform, and the diplomats take matters into their own hands.
Set in 2005, and loosely based on an historical incident, The Diplomats showcases the ways in which politics are theatrical and laughter is political.
