Adventure awaits as the San Francisco Opera present Jose Maria Condemi's production of Verdi's dramatic and irresistible Ernani. Based on the tale from Victor Hugo, this rarely performed gem tells a dazzling tale of an exiled Nobleman turned bandit who sets out to save his beloved Elvira from the clutches of two powerful men, and the unhappy wedding that surely awaits her. A saga on a level with Hugo's famous Les Miserables, watch as the fate of Ernani's rescue mission soon becomes entwined with the fate of the country itself.

The first opera to be fully recorded, Ernani thrills with a lush and theatrical score that accompanies the action as it moves towards its tragic and unmissable finale.
