The Great Wave is a fantastic new thriller from the pen of skilled playwright Francis Turnly. Featuring British Japanese actress Kae Alexander, British actor Chike Chan and American actress Rosalind Chao, the play makes its American debut and marks the second in an exciting trilogy exploring young female characters living in Japan.
After a vicious storm, Reiko looses her sister Hanako to the sea. However, mystery surrounds the tragic event as Reiko remembers seeing three men on the shore during the disappearance.
Speaking to The Guardian, writer Francis Turnly mentioned how all of his plays are "about identity." He went on to say how he focuses on writing about someone "becoming someone else" or "someone turning into something else."
