Sanaz Toossi, the award-winning Iranian-American playwright behind Wish You Were Here, is back with her new play English. A moving comedy set in Iran, the play follows four adults studying for a test in the English language, which for them could open the door to freedom and a future.
Humorously exploring the nuances in language which native speakers often are oblivious to, English finds the characters preparing for a new future whilst tackling the subtleties which could hinder their ability to express themselves. Winner of Outstanding Play at the 2022 Lucille Lortel Awards, Toossi's latest offering is garnering critical acclaim and is not to be missed.
