WTF VAN

Really? So incredibly disappointing. Not one song I knew. Not one. I want my money back. What a complete egotistical ass.

DISAPPOINTMENT OF VAN'S CONCERT ON PAR WITH SAN DIEGO PADRES 2023 PERFORMANCE

Utterly disappointed in Van Morrison's concert performance on 9/4/23 at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park in San Diego. His voice sounded strong and clear but he played only two "hit" songs of his extended catalog, "into the Mystic" & "Gloria". He never addressed the enthusiastic crowd and did nothing to personalize his appearance in San Diego. We were amazed when they turned on the lights to signal that the concert had concluded since his backup vocalists had performed the final 10 minutes of "Gloria." While the backup vocalists were stringing out Gloria I was sure it was to let Van rest so he could finish with five or ten of his classic hits. I would have been satisfied with a medley. We could have (should have) purchased every song he ever published for the cost of this concert. At least we would have something tangible to enjoy for the rest of our lives. Unfortunately all we have is the sting of bitter disappointment that we will be reminded of every time we hear one of his songs.

WASTE OF TIME

I’ve heard cover bands better than Van Morrison’s band. No enthusiasm from Morrison nor the band. I think he played one of his hits that made him. Otherwise he played what he wanted and could have cared less we were there. Walked off the stage without abruptly without even waving hood by. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

NOT THE BEST CONCERT

Sometimes artists need to cater to their audience, not their own personal idea or preference of what they should sing. We attended the show on September 6th at Planet Hollywood. The only song familiar was Gloria. We thought it was intermission but nope, it was over. No Brown Eyed Girl, Into the Mystic, Etc. Yes, it was entertaining but traveling so far and spending so much money just to have him promote his new album that are covers doesn’t resonate well with fans. We were very disappointed.

VERY, VERY DISAPPOINTED

Out of 16-17 songs he played one recognizable song and even that wasn’t very recognizable. I payed a fortune, drove 12 hours from Phoenix to Vegas to see the show, bought shirts, the whole thing. All I can say is, “Hey Van, are you in the business to entertain others or are you only interested in entertaining yourself while the rest of us are bored to tears watching you?” If I wanted to listen to gospel/spiritual songs I could have gone to church. Typical selfish musician getting paid a fortune and giving a damn what the fans think. DO NOT GO SEE THIS GUY IN CONCERT. Complete waste of coin!!

PITIFUL SHOW IN VEGAS

Did not play any of his famous hits. He did play a long instrumental version of Gloria with the backup singers covering after he walked off the stage not even half way through it. The lights came on and that was the end. No goodbye or thank you to the Las Vegas crowd in attendance. It was a big disappointment for our 21 year old son who we brought there as a birthday present all the way from Louisiana.

BORING

Went to see the Van Morrison show in vegas and I don’t think I’ve ever been so bored in my life. The stage manager should be fired immediately. VM sounded good and his band was great but that didn’t counteract the negatives- 1) we were staring at the bands backs the entire time 2) there was nothing to look at - no lights or background or anything interesting going on 3) VM didn’t engage with the audience at all and seemed to just run through the set and leave 4) he didn’t even play his hits!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Just stay home and listen to the music. Because trust me when I say there was nothing to see there. No entertainment value whatsoever.
