One of the most beloved voices of the 20th century, Judy Garland still remains relevant today as both an artist and performer and LGBTQ+ icon. Don't miss this Centennial celebration from the San Francisco Symphony, paying homage to the divinity that was Judy. Featuring vocalist Jessica Vosk and conducted by Edwin Outwater, the program is TBC, but in these capable hands, we're sure this is going to be one helluva show!
Born in 1922 in Minnesota, she was a child star, before her stunning turn as Dorothy in MGM's technicolor fever dream, The Wizard of Oz endeared her to audiences internationally. As one of Hollywood's hottest stars, she starred in many Golden Age hits. Away from movie screens, Garland was also a sought-after singer, with her now-legendary 1961 album, Judy At Carnegie Hall, marking her as the first woman to win a Grammy for Album of The Year.
