A young knight, Walther arrives in Nuremberg full of hope for a new life. When he falls for the beautiful Eva, he finds his path to marriage blocked by her father and his strange edict that Eva shall marry the winner of the Mastersinger Contest. So under the mentorship of famed poet and singer Hans Sachs, he sets out to prove himself, try to win the concert and secure Eva's hand.
