Why See The Hunchback of Notre Dame?
From high up in the bell tower of Notre Dame, the deformed captive Quasimodo dreams of experiencing life in the streets of Paris below. Managing to outwit his jailer, the treacherous archdeacon Frollo, he is able to escape for just one day to join in the revelry of the Feast of Fools. Among the frolics, he is shown kindness by the beautiful Gypsy Esmerelda, an act that will change both of their lives forever.
Created by the award-winning team behind Disney classics Aladdin, The Little Mermaid and Beauty & The Beast, Alan Menken, Stephen Schwartz and Peter Parnell, this adaptation of the powerful film (in turn based on Victor Hugo's story) includes new original songs alongside the beloved the lush and memorable score. Closing the season, don't miss Bay Area Musicals' brand new production.
Considered one the darker forays of the Disney canon, The Hunchback of Nortre Dame is a captivating adventure full of heart and drama where love soars to triumph over adversity.
