World Premiere

Join Magic Theatre for the final presentation of their 2017/18 season, the world premiere of Jessica Hagedorn's The Gangster of Love, adapted from her own autobiographical novel of the same name. Featuring poetry, live music and fantastic new music videography, discover the Haight of the 1970s, where Raquel 'Rocky' Rivera and her artistic family settle after immigrating from Manila.

The period's themes of conflict, social change and flourishing creativity embodied by the city's poets, rebels and musicians is framed through Rocky's experience in this anticipated production that has been two decades in the making!

Starring Golda Sargento as Rocky and directed by Artisic Director Loretta Greco, this bold new show promises to be the perfect way to cap off Magic Theatre's 51st season.
