HATED THIS SHOW

I have seen other productions of Oklahoma and this was the worst ever. It felt like we were watching a high school production - no orchestra, costumes, or set. The seats all around us were empty, and we left before the intermission. If we wanted to hear the score, we could have stayed home and listened to one of our CD's with a truly great cast.

OMG...SOOOO BAD

This was a dark, depressing version of Oklahoma. They turned a delightful musical into a laborious stage play. I guess I should have read more of the reviews. They put all the 5 star reviews first, so I missed the fact that the overwhelming opinion of this play was actually very poor. The turnout was very poor and many people did not return after the intermission.

WORST SHOW I’VE EVER SEEN

Whoever conceived of this revamped “Oklahoma!” needs to seriously reconsider their profession. This was quite literally the worst production I’ve ever seen or could even imagine. We left midway into the second half as we just couldn’t take it anymore, and as we did so an usher said “I’m sorry, everyone knows how bad this show is”. There is no set design, only two of the singers could actually sing, the Re-interpretation was dark, confusing and joyless, and the costumes and props looked like they were left overs from a child’s party. Do not see this show, it is awful.

DISSAPOINTMENT

We are season ticket holders and have seen numerous plays over the years and really look forward to spending time in the City while seeing a show. Oklahoma was a big time flop and a hot mess from the start. We have never left a show regardless of how bad it was until now and did so before the intermission as we just couldn't follow the poor acting, lack of energy, poor stage setup, rediculous costomes, and what was a horrible spin on a classic. Instead of calling this Oklahoma, it should have been called something else as it has been completely revised to reflect something it wasn't supposed to be.

SAVE YOU MONEY, TIME AND SELF RESPECT

We have been season ticket holders for 38 years. There have been some questionable shows. What makes me aggravated is I can’t get my time or money back. This show is horrible, terrible and any other words the thesaurus can toss out. We left at intermission and at we stayed too long. The San Francisco Theater should apologize to the City of San Francisco, all the ticket holders and any other venue they have visited. We are easily out $280. By the way we have a son who is a performer and realize how hard the work is.

OKLAHOMA. NOT

This is neither the Oklahoma we all know and love nor is it a good new production of an old script. The arrangements are better suited for a third rate “disco club”. The acting made me think the actors ewere reading from cue cards there was no choreography to take note of the dance sequence was long boring non sensual and lousy dancing. I have sat through and enjoyed all forms of musical productions is my 60 years of attendance. This is a sophomoric self indulgent No talent parent paid for garage attempt at musical theater

HORRIBLE

When I think of Oklahoma I think of a fun, happy, musical. This was the opposite of that in every way. It was a play not a musical! So disappointing. Every agenda was thrown into this play. I want to go to the theater to escape the stress of everyday life and its problems. This was a disappointment on every level. The darkened theater for Judds Dead sequence was way too long, the face's projected on the screen were distracting, the dream dance made zero sense. Looking around the theater people were bored and confused. I was in the bathroom talking to others and the general consensus was "that was three hours I will never get back". I had been looking forward to going to see Oklahoma for my aunt's 86th birthday. She loved the movie from long ago and was excited to see the musical. Huge disappointment. I would have walked out at intermission if we hadn't have attended with a group. I do not recommend this play
