I KNOW THEY TRIED BUT....WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

This show is dreadful. It played like a rehearsal of a bad high school musical. It was just SO technically bad! It opened with the characters just sitting on the stage during the musical numbers. That sucked the life out of it at the beginning & they never got it back. "Ali Hakim" sang to the back wall for half his song & you could not understand him. "Laurey" was played so angrily it made the show depressing. There was NO WAY you could believe she and "Curly" were in love and/or end up together. A masked stagehand came out IN THE MIDDLE OF A NUMBER & removed a bowl! The pacing was disjointed. The vocals did not match well. "Ado Annie" was funny but she swallowed her vowels & was difficult to understand. The whole "Poor Jud" scene was confusing & a waste of a powerful interaction. "Aunt Ellers" flat reaction to the disturbing sounds of gunshot destroyed the intensity of the scene. I was in the woman's bathroom during intermission & EVERY woman in there, across all age ranges, was talking about how disappointed, depressed & confused they were by this rendition of the play. Sititing throught the first act was excruciating. Unfortunately, I and my friends could not endure the second act and left at intermission. Apparently about half the audience had the same idea.

WORST BROADWAY SHOW WE’VE EVER SEEN!

Where to begin? Disjointed, difficult to hear lines, boring with no set change, confusing and bad to the point of humorously mocking it, pitchy singing, strange scenes with awkward lengthy silent pauses, nothing redeeming about this show. It was painfully tedious to watch without being the least bit entertaining. This show will not last.

OKLAHOMA

Sorry I took my mom to this. Probably will not return. Terrible show. Only liked 1 square dance part. This was a very big disappointment.

BUTCHERED THE ORIGINAL PLAY

We left at intermission as did at least half of the audience. High school plays have better sets and costumes. Wish we had known this was the NEW version of Oklahoma. Dark and depressing.

WORST PERFORMANCE I’VE EVER SEEN

I was in Oklahoma in college. We did horribly. There was no lighting, people forgot their lines. Someone was tone deaf. But it was still better than this psychotic garbage. Also, why was there a 15-minute-long interpretive dance performed by someone who wasn’t any of the characters from the play? Why did they fill the theater with smoke? Why did Ali Hakim come pour beer on me? What just happened?

WORSE SHOW EVER ...NOT EVEN AN ATTEMPT FOR ORIGINALITY

Production tried to be innovative but utterly failed. Everything was off.....sound, acting, set up, failing techniques. Feel sorry for the actors who have to live with the poor script and acting guidance. What a waste!

TERRIBLE DISAPPOINTMENT

Updated rendition would be one thing, but : Actors who can’t act, singers who can’t sing. Staging that could work for a small venue but definitely not the Golden Gate Theater. Could not hear half the dialogue or lyrics. Silent moments ruined by the loud hum of the theater HVAC system. Get a new sound engineer and a better cast, especially for Jud and Will. Seems like the cast forgot they were performing.
