TOO MANY CHANGES

Not at all what we expected, we walked out. Hard to follow, too many changes from the original.

OKLAHOMA

I saw "Oklahoma" during opening night in Porvidence. I actually got invited at the last minute and did not realize that this was a NEW version of the original. The musicians were amazing throughout the entire performance, most of the actors were good. Through no fault of their own they were given an awful script to work with, and it showed with their lack of enthusiasm at the end. I understand the "woke" idea for showing the true era of the time, however, what I have a problem with is when "woke" it is being thrown everywhere. It did NOT work for this production. It is the first time I have even thought of leaving a production at intermission. I did not leave because of my respect for the acting craft.

NO THANKS

Very familiar with the story line. Was looking forward to seeing this version. After reading these reviews i would rather have a root canal.

A VERY DARK VERSION

I took my mother in law hoping to see her first Broadway show and was very disappointed. It was a very dark portrayal that was hard to follow. This was the first Broadway show that I did not enjoy.

EVEN LIBERAL WOKE RHODE ISLANDERS DIDN’T LIKE IT.

Saw it in Rhode Island. Dark and dreary, people walked out after the first act. Hardly anyone clapped at the end. Music at times was so loud and awful at times people covered their ears. The one saving grace was the actor who played the peddler/salesman. It wasn’t the crew, they did the best they could given the horrid production. I really tried to understand what they were trying to portray. Save your money. No change of set, not even one.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE PLAY

This was the worst play I’ve ever seen. I’m not only comparing this to broadway plays or other plays at PPAC, but High School and amateur theatre as well. I don’t mind that it’s reimagined. It’s a crappy “reimagined”. The dialogue is cheesy, the choreography is horrible, there’s no set design. This was the absolute worst play I’ve ever seen.
