WALKED OUT

Celebrating our 1st Anniversary last evening to hear one of my favs, Diana Krall. She was late starting and it went downhill from there. We heard mumbled partial songs, but little else. My husband thought she was high. Too much playing from the band - and nothing from her. So disappointing and a waste of money. It was my first Diana Krall concert- and my last. I’ll listen on Alexa.

I have five of her albums, have loved her music since seeing her at the Newport Jazz Festival over 1o years ago. But tonight’s performance was a shock and disappointment. She did not look at or engage with the audience, was late starting and sang one or two lines from her songs by mumbling and whispering. She got lost in a song, forgot the words and spent most of the performance sitting back listening to solos by the other musicians. The whole evening was nothing more than a jam session with her playing very little, flipping her hair and letting her band lead the performance. I’m not planning to see her again, it was a waste of expensive orchestra tickets and the time to drive 150 miles round trip. How sad

JUST AWFUL

The reason why I loved her music was from the cds I listened to. And if she changes the speed of the song or forgets the words then I would rather stay home and listen to the songs I like. The musicians who accompanied her were wonderful- but I came to hear Diana not doodling.

1 STAR AT BEST

This is the first concert I hoped for an intermission so I could leave. I am so happy I’m not the only person who felt the same way after reading so many similar experiences! This was one of the worst concerts I’ve been to. It left me feeling so eerie and depressed. It was like the life and happiness was sucked out of the entire room. There was barely any singing. IF and WHEN she actually spoke, you couldn’t understand a word she said. I think she was high or on something. The band carried the entire performance. It started late. She only sang cover songs. Her hair covered her face the entire time. It wasn’t even a performance and sadly, a waste of my money and time.

SOMETHING IS WRONG HERE

Greenville SC 10/17...so whats the issue with DK. She hardly sang any song we knew, her voice was low no energy whatsoever. It was basically her normal band that did instumentals where her singing should be. She seemed very uncomfortable and unintersted. So dissappointed that probably wont see her again. We saw her 2 times in Philly and Baltmore...drastically different events. Seems I should have read the reviews before I bought overpriced tickets. As with other reviews there is something wrong here, plus the sound mixing was horrible, not what you'd expect in a venue like the Peace Center
