Why See San Francisco Symphony - Beethoven's Third Piano Concerto?

Two wonders for one

Pianist Paul Lewis lends his talents to the San Francisco Symphony for this recital of Beethoven's gorgeous Third Piano Concerto. Exuding charm, passion and wit, it famously premiered with the composer himself as soloist, where, if legend is to be believed, he played the whole thing from memory.

Alongside, the Symphony will turn a hand to Strauss's unforgettable and evocative Alpine Symphony, a wonderful musical journey through the dramatic and beautiful landscape of the Alps and his largest for the orchestra, requiring up to 175 performers.
