What sets this youth orchestra apart was not a typical, energetic camaraderie, but near military precision and a focus of great maturity.

Why See Peter and the Wolf?

The SF Youth Orchestra Performs Prokofiev

The San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra invite the Santa Cruz Symphony's music director and conductor extraordinaire Daniel Stewart and special guest narrator in the form of celebrated stand-up comedian Dulce Sloane for a program of seasonal delights. The young ensemble will also display their talent and skill during a performance of timeless Prokofiev classic Peter and The Wolf.

Since its inaugural concert in 1982, the SFSYO has cultivated a reputation as one of the best youth orchestras in the world. From Saint Petersburg's Mariinksy Theatre to Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, the outfit has performed a range of classical stalwarts on the world's stages to much acclaim. They triumphantly head into this performance after wrapping up their 11th international tour in 2019.
