Designated by Congress as 'a vital American cultural ambassador to the world', it's been over 60 years since Alvin Ailey and his group of African-American dancers performed for the very first time at the 92nd Street Y in New York City. In April 2024 audiences can enjoy a highly anticipated return of two standout productions from the San Francisco Ballet's 2024 season, "Broken Wings" by Annabelle Lopez Ochoa and Sir Frederick Ashton's "Marguerite and Armand." Ochoa's dynamic portrayal of Frida Kahlo's life is brought to life with a wonderful original score infused with mariachi music, with movement and music intertwining to capture the essence of Kahlo's paintings.
