Onegin

Just who is Eugene Onegin? The titular character in this compelling ballet by dance legend John Cranko begins as a bored dandy for whom life is a rash of Concerts, Balls and Parties where each woman seems to melt into another. When his inheritance takes him to large estate in the country, he relishes the challenges of a new scene, but then he meets the starry-eyed poet Lensky, his stuck up fiance Olga and her dreamy sister Tatayana. It turns out his selfish ways are not dulled by the rural setting and his destiny plays out before him as he realises his rejection of innocent Tatayana may have cost him more than just his happiness, but his entire personality, life and future.
